一方、豪州TGAでは、Medicines Safety Updateで、処方にあたっては、起こりうるリスクを考慮することや、医療専門職は患者に静脈血栓塞栓症の徴候と症状について指導することを求めています。

一方で、米国医療薬剤師会のAm J Health Syst Pharm 誌では大半の利用できるデータを調べたところドロスピレノンを含む経口避妊薬は他の経口避妊薬と比較してVTEのリスクが増加するとした結論は支持しないとした論文を掲載しています。（BMJの論文は含まれてはいないと思いますが）
