健康食品もこんな風に販売を呼びかけているのかもしれませんね。

こういったところで、くすりの販売はどうなのかと改めて考えさせられます。　

日本感染症学会の「一般予防策ではうがい、手洗い、マスクが効果的です」とする根拠は、一般的に呼吸器ウイルス感染の防止対策の一環としてマスクを含めた総合的な対策が有用であるとする下記のシステマティックなレビュー報告があるためとしていますが

この論文を掲載したBMJ誌に5月7日に掲載された記事、A/H1N1 influenza: questions and answers　によれば、Is it worth wearing a facemask?　の部分で、この論文を引用しつつも次のように記載しています。

There is no convincing scientific evidence that the widespread use of facemasks by members of the public can stop the disease spreading. They can give false reassurance and may encourage people to ignore basic hygiene measures that have proven effectiveness.

つまり、一般の人（病気でない人）の多くがマスクを着用することで病気の拡大を止めることができるという説得力がある科学的なエビデンスがない。間違った安心感を与えかねず、基本的な予防対策がおろそかになる可能性があると指摘しています。

また、感染症学会が根拠とするWHOの勧告をみても

と記されていて、インフルエンザ様症状を持つ人はマスクの着用が望まれるが、開放的な空間（定義は難しいですが）でのマスク着用のベネフィットは確立していないと指摘しています。

マスク着用の是非については、さまざまな意見があります。正しい情報を入手して、ご自身で判断の上、患者さんに正しい情報を提供して下さい。

各紙も報道のスタンスを変えてきましたね。
